It was a beautiful day for my last ride for the 2026 GCC! π Lynn, Lou and I had a great ride! I only had 19 miles left to reach my goal, but we added 6 more βsprinkle/sparkleβ miles! It truly was a perfect day for an outdoor ride! Lynn paced our ride perfectly! Iβm glad that Lou joined us! She has been a longtime supporter of my GCC for many years. I missed riding with all of the other Big Wheel members this year, but my schedule has not worked out to do so. Hopefully we can have a victory ride soon! π΄ββοΈ
Thank you all for your support this year! It has been challenging, but I have officially exceeded my mileage and donation goals! ππ I appreciate all of your prayers and encouragement, too! Please continue to keep all of the kids in your prayers as they continue in the fight.π If the Lordβs will allows, I will be back next year for my 9th Great Cycle Challenge to continue the fight for the kids! God bless you all! ππ΄ββοΈβ€οΈ
Today I rode two different routes on the trainer and logged another 30.3 miles to my total! Lord willing, I will finish my last miles on Tuesday!
While I was riding, I was thinking of all of the kids fighting for their lives. Sadly this year two of the ambassadors in this photo have passed away. Lincoln and Kylie were awesome ambassadors for the GCC. Please keep their families in your thoughts and prayers.
Here are just a few examples of how your donations help the kids in the fight. Projects like the ones below need your support to turn research advances into real outcomes for kids fighting cancer.
Your support will help Dr. John Maris at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia launch a new trial testing a next-gen, vaccine-boosted immunotherapy to treat high-risk neuroblastoma.
Your support will help researchers at Dana-Farber get ahead of relapse by using 'liquid biopsy' to spot a cancer's recurrence in the blood β even before it can be seen on a scan.
Your support will help fund Dr. Brian Fisher at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia understand how the immune system recovers after leukemia treatment and ways to protect children from potentially deadly infections.
Thank you for all of your donations, prayers and encouragement this month! I am so grateful and blessed! π΄ββοΈπβ€οΈ
We started our ride early today to get it done before the winds got to be too much. Lynn did a great job navigating us around the countryside. There were a few headwind and uphill challenges, but we had an awesome ride in spite of the conditions! It was my longest ride of the Challenge! I am so thankful for all of his support and encouragement! ππβ€οΈ
While riding,my thoughts were of all the kids currently fighting cancer. I saw a local news segment about a 5-year old boy, Tucker Honeycutt, who will be undergoing surgery for a brain tumor on Monday at Duke. Please keep him, his family and those caring for him in your prayers. πβ€οΈβπ©Ήπ
I have 50 miles remaining and will hopefully finish on Tuesday! Letβs finish strong for these brave warriors in the fight! ππ΄ββοΈπ
I had another good ride on the trainer last night. I added another 17 miles! I am getting closer to the finish line! Keep the support and prayers coming! ππ΄ββοΈπ
Todayβs ride was another good trainer ride. It was a fast, flat course, but it was a lot of hard work (and fun)! I added another 17 miles today! I was thinking of all the kids pushing hard in their fight against cancer, and it motivated me to push myself! π΄ββοΈ
Just a reminder that all online donations today (9/23) will be matched! Letβs finish this last week strong! Keep me in your prayers! π΄ββοΈππ
I had a short ride on the trainer last night. I added 8 more miles to the total! Slowly but surely I will get there! Iβve got eight more days to go!
Today, September 23, is MATCH DAY. It is another special day when ONLINE donations will be matched up to a value of $20Ok! If you have been considering supporting the GCC, donating online TODAY will have double the impact! π Letβs see just how far we can go! After all, kids should be living life not fighting for it! ππ΄ββοΈπ
Today I enjoyed riding two different circuits on the trainer for a total of 14.3 miles! I am thankful that these trainer miles count! I can sense the finish line getting closer! Keep me and the kids in the fight in your prayers! ππ΄ββοΈβ€οΈ
Today I rode my husbandβs indoor training bike. It is very different from the kinetic trainer I am used to riding. It was a lot more fun to have some scenery! I got in another 16 miles today which puts me over the halfway mark! π I will keep pedaling for the kids! Letβs see how far we can go! Your donations, encouragement, and prayers are greatly appreciated! ππ΄ββοΈπ
Today was another great early morning ride! It was so nice to see Godβs beautiful creation and hear the birds singing praises! πΌ π¦ β οΈ π We rode another 20 miles and had a 13.8 average! Road miles with Lynn are definitely more fun although there was more wind today. π¬οΈ Maybe my new Robin Superhero jersey was giving some extra motivation!π Thanks to all who have helped me earn it! ππ β€οΈ Iβm keeping all the kids in the fight in my thoughts and prayers with each turn of the pedals and am determined to finish strong over these last 11 days! ππ΄ββοΈππβ€οΈ
I am so thankful for my husband! He has always been my biggest supporter and encourager in everything including the GCC! Even though he can ride WAY better, longer and faster than I can, he is patient and pulls at my pace. He has helped me each year to reach my goal. He takes care of everything! He does all of my bike maintenance, so I literally have nothing to do but pedal! I am so grateful for EVERYTHING he does to help make my life better! He is such a blessing! We make a good team! β€οΈπ
My schedule for today changed, so we went early to get my first outdoor ride of the year! It was a beautiful, cloudy morning with not a lot of wind. π It was a wonderful 20-mile ride! π πβ€οΈ So thankful I get to share the miles with the one I love! β€οΈ Hopefully, we can get more miles this weekend with the Big Wheel group! ππ΄ββοΈ
Keep the support and prayers coming! Iβve got a bit of miles to go, but Iβm fighting and determined to reach my goal! πππ΄ββοΈ
