🎉 TWO GOALS. BOTH REACHED! 🎉
I’m incredibly grateful to share that I have officially reached BOTH of my goals for the Children’s Cancer Research Fund! 🚴♀️💛
💰 $40,000 raised over 11 years of riding
🚴♀️ 250 miles completed this September
And I could not have done it without the incredible support of family, friends, coworkers, and even complete strangers who have supported me and this cause along the way.
Today is definitely a day to celebrate! But the fight isn’t over. Not until we find a cure for childhood cancer.
The good news is, there’s still time to help. Donations remain open through the end of October, so if you’ve been meaning to donate, this is your sign. Every dollar, every donation, and every bit of support truly counts.
Help me keep the momentum going and make these final weeks count. ❤️
Thank you for helping me turn 11 years of miles into $40,000 for kids fighting cancer. I’m so grateful.

Last week, I officially completed my mileage goal for the Great Cycle Challenge, riding to raise money for the Children’s Cancer Research Fund. 🧡🚴♀️💙
September was also Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and I was proud to support the cause not only through my riding, but by making two donations myself during the month.
Now I’m just $82 away from reaching $40,000 raised over my 11 years of riding and fundraising! 🎉
Help me reach $40,000 with a tax-deductible donation today! Every dollar brings me closer to this milestone and helps fund critical childhood cancer research.
$82 to go. Let’s finish this together! 💙🚴♀️🧡

250 Miles Down… $284 to Go! 🚴♀️💙🧡
I DID IT! 250 MILES! 🚴♀️🎉
Yesterday, I climbed on my bike and knocked out 32 miles, officially completing my 250-mile Great Cycle Challenge goal for September!
Eleven years ago, I started riding to help raise money for kids fighting cancer. Eleven years later, I’m still pedaling, still fundraising, and still believing that every mile and every dollar can make a difference.
And this year has an extra-special finish line.
With your incredible support, I am now just $284 away from reaching $40,000 raised over my 11 years of riding for the Children’s Cancer Research Fund. 🧡💙
Think about that for a minute…
$40,000.
11 years.
Thousands of miles.
Countless generous donors.
And so many children and families who deserve a future without cancer.
I may have finished my 250-mile riding goal, but I’m not quite finished yet. 😉
There’s still $284 left to raise, and I would absolutely love to cross that $40,000 finish line with you.
If you’ve already donated this year, THANK YOU! Your support has carried me through more miles than you know. ❤️
If you haven’t had a chance to donate, there’s still time to help me finish this 11-year journey at $40,000.
250 miles: DONE. 🚴♀️
$40,000: SO CLOSE. 💰
$284: LET’S FINISH THIS!
Please help me continue the fight against childhood cancer and help give kids the chance to grow up, chase their dreams, and celebrate a whole lot more birthdays. 🎂💙🧡
One last little push. One last little finish line.
Thank you for riding this journey with me for the past 11 years. I truly could not have done it without you.
My goal today was to ride 20 miles.
But sometimes a ride takes you somewhere you never expected to go.
As I was riding through a local neighborhood, I noticed a woman fixing little yellow flags around a yard sign that read Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and In Loving Memory of Joseph Dennard. I had noticed the sign last week, along with yellow flags in several nearby yards.
I reluctantly stopped and asked the woman if she was Joseph’s mother. She nodded.
I wanted her to know that I had noticed the signs and that I was so sorry for her loss. I briefly told her about my daughter’s kindergarten “bestie,” who was diagnosed with cancer in kindergarten and treated at MUSC. I had seen firsthand how incredibly difficult that journey was for her family.
Joseph’s journey lasted six years.
I also told her that this is my 11th year riding in the Great Cycle Challenge to raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer research through the Children’s Cancer Research Fund. I told her I would keep her family, and all families facing childhood cancer, in my prayers.
Our conversation was brief. She was focused on fixing the flags, and I could see that she was becoming tearful, so I wished her well and continued my ride.
I was about 20 miles into my ride.
And then I decided I wasn’t finished.
I turned those final 16 miles into 16 miles for Joseph, bringing my remaining mileage to exactly 100 miles.
Later, I looked up Joseph’s name and read his obituary. Joseph was only 12 years old.
One line especially stayed with me:
«“Joseph filled every one of those years with laughter, adventure, creativity, and love, leaving an impact far beyond his time on earth.”»
His family called him Super Joe.
And perhaps the most powerful thing I read was that Joseph chose joy. He chose love. He made every moment count.
Cancer may have been part of Joseph’s story, but it wasn't the whole story.
So today, 36 miles became more than just a number on my bike computer.
16 of those miles were for Joseph.
For his mom.
For his family.
And for every child and family who has heard the words, “Your child has cancer.”
I’m riding because childhood cancer deserves more research, more treatment options, more hope, and ultimately, more birthdays.
100 miles to go. 💛🚴♀️💙🧡
If you’re following along with my Great Cycle Challenge journey, thank you. Every donation helps fund the fight against childhood cancer, and every mile helps keep these kids and their families from being forgotten.
