My Story
This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Why am I doing this? Each day in the United States 43 children are diagnosed with cancer, 38 die each week. My 5-year-old daughter Pearl Monroe Tucker, affectionately called Roe Roe, was one of the 43 diagnosed on November 21, 2019. We learned that cold Thursday that she had Leukemia and will finish her long treatment plan in January/February of 2022. During our cancer journey we have been awakened to the harsh reality that only 4% of federal cancer research dollars go to fighting childhood cancer. Our nations' children are worth more than 4%. Organizations like the Children's Cancer Research Fund are helping fill that gap.
Kids should be living life, NOT fighting for it.
And so I am taking on this challenge to end childhood cancer and save little lives.
